Can I hear an Amen?

It’s been so quiet here, I suppose summer is in full swing! It is a good thing Spawn and I didn’t plan a huge summer vacay – I have dental work starting next week that’s going to set me back an arm and a leg… and a few teeth. We tried the Asian Salsa flank steak… the Salsa was good. It rained so we ended up pan frying rather than grilling and… well it was over done and we needed a chainsaw to cut it. If we try it again, I’ll let you know.

Either way, I’m here in a happy note! I’ve been walking almost every morning 2.5 to 3.5 miles a day and this morning my blood sugar was 120!

I’ll just tiptoe out now and go find some more wonderful, excellent, and glorious recipes for y’all! Be excellent to each other!

(Also, I don’t give a rat’s ass WHAT the critics say – I LOVED Oceans 8!)

  1. Congrats on your blood sugar! Walking certainly seems to help. I tell myself every day I should be going for a walk but it’s not an exercise I enjoy – half an hour is my limit before boredom sets in (unless I’m on holiday of course then I can walk all day as a tourist) I need to now that the women’s only gym I’d been attending for ten years has closed and I have to look at other ways to get my exercise in. I love being out in the garden but that’s weather dependent and it’s been too wet lately.

    1. It has been SO hot here, I have to get out before 9 AM. I got out around 8 am on Monday and managed to knock out over 3 miles. Great early morning breeze.

My blood sugar crashed this afternoon – 2nd time this week. I was feeling weird just before dinner and I checked it, it was in he 80’s, which is VERY low for me.

I’ve pretty much cut out Cokes – I do have the occasional one, but stick mostly to water and Coke Zero. I can’t STAND Coke Zero once the initial chill is off, so I tend to put it in the freezer for 15 to 30 minutes before.

    2. Oh and I don’t walk anywhere without my mp3 player. I listen to a lot of music and will probably load it with a Richard book to listen to when I start my sessions with the dentist.
